Where we work
Houston isn't one roofing market — it's dozens.
The roof on a 1920s estate in River Oaks, a tree-shaded home in Memorial, a historic Heights bungalow, a postwar ranch in Spring Branch, and a new custom build in Bellaire are five completely different jobs — different materials, different rules, and different things that tend to go wrong.
Handyhands is a Houston-based roofer, and we work across the metro the same way: by treating your neighborhood on its own terms instead of running every house through the same template.
Why your neighborhood matters more than you'd think
Where your home sits in Houston changes the roofing conversation in concrete ways:
- The age and style of the housing stock. A street of 1920s bungalows and one of brand-new builds need very different things from a roofer.
- The materials that belong there. Some neighborhoods are slate, tile, and standing-seam territory; others are architectural asphalt — and matching what fits matters for looks and for resale.
- Local rules. Deed restrictions, HOA architectural guidelines, historic-district requirements, and even separate city permitting (Bellaire runs its own) all shape what you can put on your roof and how the job gets approved.
- Trees and exposure. A roof under Memorial's mature canopy lives a different life than one on an open lot — more debris, more shade, more moisture.
Knowing those things before we climb the ladder is the difference between a roofer who works in Houston and one who knows your part of it.
The Houston realities every roof faces
On top of the neighborhood specifics, every roof in this city contends with the same hard climate — intense heat and UV, Gulf-driven hurricane wind, an active hail corridor, and the humidity that feeds the black algae streaks you see all over town. We build for those conditions on every roof, in every neighborhood. Our Resources guides go deeper on how Houston's climate ages a roof and what actually makes one last.

Neighborhoods we serve
We work throughout Houston and the surrounding area. A few of the neighborhoods we focus on:
River Oaks
Premium and historic homes where matching slate, tile, and high-end materials — and working within deed restrictions — is the job.
Roofing in River Oaks →Memorial
Large, wooded lots where tree canopy, debris, and shade drive what a roof needs.
Roofing in Memorial →The Heights
Historic-district homes where material and profile choices have to respect preservation rules.
Roofing in The Heights →Spring Branch
Established postwar neighborhoods whose original roofs are reaching replacement age, alongside new construction.
Roofing in Spring Branch →Bellaire
Its own city, with its own permitting, and a teardown-and-rebuild mix of aging roofs and new custom homes.
Roofing in Bellaire →Greater Houston
We also serve the greater Houston area — including communities like:

One standard, everywhere
What stays the same, wherever you are
The neighborhood changes; our standard doesn't. In every part of Houston we work, that means the full range of roofing systems — the GAF Timberline HDZ asphalt system, standing seam and corrugated R-panel metal, and specialty clay, cement, and slate tile — installed to reach the high end of their lifespan.
It means the insurance-restoration expertise we're known for when storm damage is involved. And it means our 10-year workmanship warranty on the labor, on every roof.
