Houston Roofing
One standard. Every roof.
We're a family-owned, GAF-Certified roofer in Houston, and we build every roof the same way: the complete GAF system, top to bottom — never the shingle-only shortcut. Replacement, repair, storm and hail damage, flat and low-slope. Here's how we work, and where to start.

The Handyhands standard
A roof is a system, not a stack of shingles.
Most roofs don't fail at the shingle you can see from the street. They fail at the valleys, the flashing, the pipe boots, and the nails — the parts a cheap bid quietly economizes on. We built our standard the opposite way: the layers you can't see get the same attention as the ones you can.
That means one complete GAF system on every roof we build — the same underlayment, the same leak barriers, the same 6-nail pattern, whether it's a full replacement or a single repair done right. It's also why we're trusted with the insurance side of roofing: we understand a storm claim as well as we understand the roof itself.
Whatever brought you here — a leak, a storm, an aging roof, or just a straight second opinion — it starts the same way: an honest, no-pressure look at what your roof actually needs.
What we do
Roofing, end to end.

Our system vs. the competition
The complete GAF system, top to bottom — and exactly what gets quietly skipped when a roof is priced to be the cheapest bid. Start here.
See the whole system, layer by layer →Roof Replacement
When a roof is past saving, we rebuild the whole system — deck up — not just the shingle you can see. GAF Timberline HDZ, sealed details, balanced ventilation, 10-year workmanship warranty.
Learn more →Roof Repair
Leaks, worn pipe boots, exposed nails, failed flashing, storm damage. We find the real source, fix it right, and tell you honestly when a repair beats a replacement.
Learn more →Free Roof Inspection
A free, no-pressure, often drone-assisted look at your roof — and a straight answer about what it actually needs. No scare tactics.
Learn more →Shingles & Materials
The exact GAF materials we build with — Timberline HDZ, TimberTex, StormGuard, FeltBuster — plus the UHDZ and Class 4 AS II upgrades.
Learn more →Storm & Hail Damage
Wind and hail leave damage you can't always see from the ground. We inspect, document what we find, and stand with you through the insurance claim.
Learn more →Flat / Low-Slope Roofing
Porches, additions, and the flat sections shingles can't protect get the right membrane-based low-slope system — built to handle water that sits rather than runs.

Built in layers, deck up.
Every layer has a job, and we don't skip the ones nobody sees. Here's the short version of what goes onto a Handyhands roof — the full anatomy lives on the system page.
Deck, inspected & re-nailed
We inspect the wood decking and re-nail it to code before anything goes down. Storms find weak decking first.
FeltBuster synthetic underlayment
A tear-resistant synthetic layer across the whole deck — your roof's secondary water barrier, far stronger than paper felt.
StormGuard ice & water shield
A self-sealing leak barrier in the valleys, around penetrations, and at vulnerable edges — exactly where Houston roofs leak.
GAF Timberline HDZ + 6-nail
Our standard architectural shingle, set with LayerLock and a full 6-nail pattern — not the 4-nail field-guess.
TimberTex hip & ridge caps
Premium, impact-resistant caps finish the hips and ridges — heavier and more durable than cut-up 3-tab.
Balanced ventilation
Calculated intake and exhaust, with ridge venting where the roof allows — it protects the shingles from underneath.
Storm & insurance
Hit by a storm? We know the claim side too.
Wind and hail damage is often a covered claim on a Texas homeowners policy — but it isn't always visible from the ground, and a claim is only as strong as its documentation. We inspect honestly, document what we find, attend the adjuster meeting, and stand with you through it. We can't promise an outcome; we can promise it's done straight.
How the roof insurance claim process works →- Honest, documented inspection
- We attend the adjuster meeting
- Supplements for legitimately owed items
- A documentation packet for your records
Questions, answered
Roofing in Houston, straight answers
Do you do both roof repairs and full replacements?
Both. We're a full-service roofing contractor — from a single worn pipe boot or flashing detail to a complete deck-up replacement. And we'll tell you honestly which one your roof actually needs, rather than selling you a roof you don't.
What roofing system do you install?
We install the complete GAF system on every roof: GAF Timberline HDZ shingles set with a 6-nail LayerLock pattern, FeltBuster synthetic underlayment, StormGuard ice & water shield, TimberTex hip & ridge caps, new flashing, and balanced ventilation. GAF Timberline UHDZ and the Class 4 impact-resistant AS II are available as upgrades.
Do you handle storm-damage insurance claims?
Yes — it's something we specialize in. We inspect honestly, document wind and hail damage thoroughly, attend the adjuster meeting, and stand with you through the process. We can't promise a specific claim outcome — that's the insurer's decision — but we'll do our part right. See our Insurance Claims hub for the full process.
What areas do you serve, and what backs the work?
We're a family-owned, GAF-Certified contractor serving Houston and the surrounding metro — Katy, Cypress, Spring, Tomball, The Woodlands, Pearland, Sugar Land, Memorial, and The Heights. Every roof is backed by the GAF System Plus and WindProven warranties plus our own 10-year workmanship warranty.
