Pricing and quotes
Will you give me a price over the phone?
Honestly, no — and you should be cautious of anyone who will. Every roof is different in size, pitch, and condition, and decking surprises only show up once we look. We'll give you a real, accurate number after a real look, not a guess we have to walk back later.
Do you charge for an inspection or estimate?
No. Our roof inspection is free and there's no pressure — we'll take a look, give you a straight assessment, and explain your options with no obligation.
Is the inspection free?
Yes — the initial roof inspection and estimate are free and no-obligation.
If I have storm damage, what will I actually pay?
On a covered claim under a Replacement Cost Value (RCV) policy, your out-of-pocket is typically just your deductible — your insurer covers the rest. If you carry an Actual Cash Value (ACV) policy, you'll also cover the depreciation, which is why it pays to know which policy you have.
How much does holiday lighting cost?
Holiday lighting packages start at $750. 15% off any holiday lighting installation booked and installed before Thanksgiving. Your written quote confirms the measured scope and ownership arrangement.
How we work
Will you tell me if I don't actually need a new roof?
Yes. If your roof just needs a repair or some maintenance rather than a replacement, we'll say so. An honest repair beats an unnecessary replacement every time, and our reputation is worth more to us than any single job.
Do you only work on roofs you installed?
No. We repair and replace roofs regardless of who installed them, and we're glad to give you a second opinion on a roof another company has looked at.
Are you licensed and certified?
We're a family-owned, GAF Certified roofing contractor serving Houston and the surrounding metro. Every roof we replace is backed by GAF's System Plus and WindProven warranties plus our own 10-year workmanship warranty.
Should I repair or replace an older roof?
It depends on age, material, and how widespread the wear is. A younger roof with a localized problem is usually a repair; an older roof leaking in more than one place is usually telling you it's time. Our 7 signs guide walks through how to tell — and we'll give you a straight answer when we look.
How do I know how old my roof is?
If you bought the home, your closing documents or a local permit record may show the last roof. Otherwise the roof itself tells you — granule loss, curling or brittle shingles, and worn pipe boots all point to age. An inspection gives you a realistic read.
Warranties
What's the difference between a manufacturer warranty and a workmanship warranty?
The manufacturer warranties (System Plus and WindProven) cover the GAF materials and wind performance. The workmanship warranty covers our installation — the labor. You want both, because a material warranty won't help a roof that was installed wrong, and a labor warranty won't replace defective materials.
Do I have to do anything to keep my warranty valid?
Keep the roof properly ventilated and maintained, and keep your registration and documentation on hand — that's what the packet we give you is for. Neglect and unrelated damage are the usual things that can affect coverage; we'll walk you through the specifics for your roof.
Does a roof repair carry a warranty?
Repairs are backed by our work as well; the exact terms depend on the scope of the repair, and we'll spell that out before we start so you know what's covered.
What coverage comes with lighting?
Lifetime on leased lights · 5 years if you own them. Both terms cover the lights and bulbs themselves — the product, not a workmanship warranty on the installation. The install is a service we stand behind through the season, and permanent soffit track carries our separate 2-year workmanship term on non-roofing trades.
Insurance claims
Should I even file a claim?
It depends on your damage and your policy. If you have legitimate storm damage and an RCV policy, it's often worth it — your out-of-pocket is usually just your deductible. If you have an ACV policy, the math is different and we'll walk you through it honestly before you decide.
Will filing a claim raise my rates?
A single claim typically isn't the driver. Rates tend to move with the volume of claims in your area after a storm — often regardless of whether you personally filed. When your neighborhood's been hit, it's usually wise to address your roof while you can.
Do you guarantee my claim will be approved?
No one honestly can — coverage decisions are the insurer’s. What we guarantee is the work: a thorough inspection, complete documentation, our presence at the adjuster meeting, and a proper supplement for what’s owed. We give your claim its best, fair shot.
What does it cost to have you involved?
The inspection is free. We'll give you a straight assessment and explain your options with no obligation.
The insurance company sent a denial. Is it over?
Often, no. A first letter that reads like a denial — or comes in under your deductible — is frequently just the opening position, especially if storm damage has been acknowledged. That's typically where the real claim work begins, and where we step in.
Is hail damage covered even if my roof isn't leaking yet?
It can be. Insurers evaluate functional hail damage — granule loss that exposes the asphalt mat, blistering, and weakened spots — not just active leaks. Because hail damage progresses over time, damage that hasn't leaked yet can still be legitimate, documentable storm damage. The key is documenting it accurately and promptly. Whether it's covered is ultimately your insurer's decision.
Exterior and holiday lighting
Who owns the lights?
Choose leased or owned seasonal lights. We store leased lights; owners store purchased lights. Both include installation, in-season service and takedown. We confirm renewal scope and pricing before the next season.
Will the clips damage my roof?
We choose clips suited to the attachment surface and assess shingles, gutters and fascia before installation. Seasonal roofline lights use clips instead of fasteners driven through the roof surface.
Seasonal or permanent?
Seasonal C9 gives you a traditional holiday display with takedown after the season. Permanent lighting stays mounted for everyday evenings and occasions. It is quoted separately and may need maintenance or repairs over time.
Can you install before Thanksgiving?
Request a pre-Thanksgiving installation in the form. Availability is confirmed before you book.
Do you work with HOA restrictions?
Share your HOA guidelines, approved colors and installation or removal dates. We plan around the restrictions you provide.
